Equine Assisted Learning
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is a therapeutic and educational approach involving interacting with horses to promote self-awareness, empathy and emotional regulation. Horses are highly responsive to body language and emotions and they provide constant and immediate feedback. Unique to horses, this sensitivity helps people remain present and aware of themselves and their environment, enhancing the learning experience and promoting personal growth.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
Our EAP program provides participants with an environment where they can develop, bond and experience safe relationships alongside horses, that are free from judgement or criticism. The horse-human relationship is a truly unique experience and for some participants, it is their first experience in a safe relationship and their first step
on the path to healing. The trust and bond that develops between the horse
and individuals during the program helps participants to manage their response and ability to cope with challenges and situations that may occur in the future.
Remember, our retired racehorses are on their own re-education journey. Through activities such as grooming, feeding, leading and riding them, you can develop your own verbal and non-verbal communication skills and practice safe boundaries. Those experiencing from PTSD, depression and anxiety often benefit from EAP/EAL to aid their recovery. EAP/EAL allows participants the opportunity to be present with their equine counterpart in a peaceful and serene setting.
