What a Year!

2023 has been an exciting and eventful year here at Life with Horses!

Since January we have taken on three more horses, Fancy, Nemo and Luca, doubling the size of our herd, we have also brought on more humans to join our happy team. Jen Davy has come on board as a coach and trainer to assist with lessons and the heard, and Wendy Lennon as an EAP helping with our Equine Therapy Sessions. The extra hands-on deck have allowed Kat to get out and about raising awareness and gaining LWH supporters.

Kat’s PR work is certainly paying off with new supporters including Imagine Holidays, Nova Entertainment and The Osbourne Hotel all bringing much-needed funds for the care of our horses. In addition to our sponsors, we ran two successful fundraising events this year, the first held in May at The Prince Consort Hotel (long-time supporters of LWH), raising an incredible $17,000 and our Melbourne Cup fundraising initiative going beyond that, with $25,000 raised, as well as bringing some fantastic opportunities to get the Life with Horses word out there!

Keeping our Life with Horses Programs front of mind is crucial for continued sponsorships and Kat and the team have not let any chance to talk about what we have to offer slip through their fingers. Kat gave a beautifully worded explanation of the horses, the sessions and the benefits in this interview with Nathan Exelby at the Brisbane Racing Club when they hosted Life with Horses at their Chairman’s Club function in June. This event gave LWH a platform to reach a greater audience within the racing industry and we felt so fortunate to be able to share our story.

The good exposure continued for LWH when we were chosen to feature on Caroline Searcy’s thoroughbred re-homing program, “Thoroughbreds are Go”, see the episode here.  Life with Horses was also fortunate enough to be filmed by Channel 7 for the “Weekender”, keep your eye out for it as it is set to be aired in the new year!

We have topped off this magnificent year with our ever-growing Christmas Party, including 45 guests this year, it was great to have so many supporters help celebrate the festive season with us and our beloved horses!

We have just launched our Kids Horse Summer Club! Our school holiday camps for children aged 8 to 18 give kids a chance to spend a day on the farm, learning about the animals through interactive games and riding experiences. We look forward to giving these children a taste of life on the farm while enjoying the fresh air of the great outdoors.

Thank you to our supporters for everything we have achieved in 2023, we can’t wait to see what next year brings!
